About this Organisation

We are no ordinary army. Since 1883, The Salvation Army has fought poverty and social and spiritual distress in New Zealand.

We’ve been there to help more than 120,000 families and individuals in need each year—with budgeting advice, food and clothing assistance, life skills programmes and other comfort and support. At The Salvation Army we are committed to our mission of caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society.

The Army’s work in over 126 countries is coordinated by our International Headquarters in London, which is the base for our international leader, General André Cox.

Full-time officers and employees, along with soldiers (church members) who volunteer their skills and expertise, provide our social and church-based services. The Army has over 3000 officers and employees in New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga and is recognised as a high value employer.

About this Organisation

Proverbs 31:25-26 says: “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Embrace Womens Group wants to embrace all that the Lord intends for us as women in these strategic and important days in which we live. We want to personally embrace Him, more and more. We want to embrace our sisters in Christ, our families and those who are yet to meet our wonderful Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Embrace Womens Group warmly embrace all women who come and encourage them to become Godly women who desire to fulfill all that Christ has laid hold of them for. We have times of warm and genuine fellowship, there is time to worship and thank the Lord, to study His word, to be encouraged by the testimony of others and to pray for and minister to each other. Women are encouraged to grow in their spiritual gifts and to encourage, bless and support one another in many ways. Embrace is a safe place and we hope that women of all ages and stages of life will be able to join us. “At home” children are most welcome to join us. Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, starting with morning tea at 10am.
