COMMENTARY
The problem in NZ with censorship is that the bar keeps dropping every year allowing more objectionable material shown to lower age groups. The question is, does the censorship we have follow society or create the lower bar which society accepts. How low will it go you ask? The censors will protect their positions and argue that what they are allowing is just reflecting societies tastes. We don’t have to look far to find recent examples of the lower bar with the movie 50 Shades of Grey (R18) being shown on TV at 8:30pm at night especially during the school holidays. Wikipedia gives a good history of NZ Censorship.
